Cheech and Chong are Back!

Cheech and Chong Reunited! by Jenni Gregory

It's been over 25 years, but finally, Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong are back on stage, making audiences laugh so hard they're all choked up. The world's most famous stoner comedians are hitting the tour circuit and their act is smoking'!

Remember When?

Remember when the whole gang use to roll on the floor, overcome by laughter as they listened to Cheech and Chong's latest routine? Remember "Let's Make a Dope Deal" and "Sister Mary Elephant"? Between 1972 and 1985, Cheech and Chong released a total of nine comedy albums and starred in eight feature films, usually portraying a pair of dope loving hippies bumbling through life. They won one Grammy award and were nominated for three others.

Cheech and Chong's humor was definitely a product of the drug-influenced era of the 70's. They were the poets of potheads everywhere. It was an age of free love, freethinking and pot parties extraordinaire.

Is their comedy still timely in today's society? They think so. "It's time for a revival of dope jokes", Marin has said. Audiences across the country must agree, because they are flocking to see Cheech and Chong's new Light Up America tour. Venues have been selling out of these much sought after tickets quickly.

Their Past Feud is Up in Smoke!

After the duo split up their act in 1987, their friendship grew shaky at best. There were attempts at reunions, but they were never able to pull it off. Instead, each of them tackled solo careers.

Cheech Marin became well known as a character actor, appearing as a regular on the TV show Nash Bridges and in a variety of films, including Shrimp on the Barbie, and did character voices for several popular animated films.

Tommy Chong also pursued his career, playing in comedy films and co-starring in the hit TV series That Seventies Show. He also invested in business ventures, including Chong's Bongs. Unfortunately, this plan was skewered when it's offices were raided by federal officials and Chong was charged with distributing drug paraphernalia. He pleaded guilty and served nine months in prison.

Once Chong was released, plans for the reunion of the iconic duo to reunite began to take shape, but once again they fell through. In the end, it was more than 25 years before these hippie heroes were to bring the gift of guffaws back to America.

If you can remember their great routines from the first time around, you know you're in for a laugh fest you won't soon forget. You'll see classic sketches that bring back the funny side of your youth.

If you are too young to recall the hippie heydays, you will have a completely new respect for your parents' sense of humor after you see this show. Why not bring Mom and Dad along? It's a great way to bridge the generation gap.

Don't let your chance to see this fabulously funny duo go up in smoke. Get your tickets today!
